Kwagala Project is dedicated to rescuing, restoring, and empowering women and children who have been victimized by trafficking, gender-based violence and/or abject poverty.

Inexplicable Joy

Three years ago Joy was in desperate need of assistance.  She was a perfect candidate for our program, but unlike most of the girls her age, Joy was unable to live at Kwagala or attend school full-time because she was caring for her ailing mother and younger sisters. In lieu of formal education, Joy learned to make the paper beads at our vocational school and took classes on money...


THE ISSUES THESE GIRLS FACE ARE COMPLICATED AND DAUNTING - THERE'S NO EASY FIX,  BUT TO DO NOTHING SEEMS ENTIRELY UNIMAGINABLE.
